If the ladder were to be straight down the steps of the ladder would have you almost climbing backwards as you ascend the ladder. I realize that when seeing the ladder on the trailer the angle is more than what would be desired but in the water it will make boarding the boat much easier.

We also unfortunately do not have the specs/measurements of the EIDE boat loader because it is not a product that we carry. As far as the height of the Adarac system on your truck, I confirmed with the manufacturer that the ladder rack adds 24 inches of height from the top of your truck bed's cap rails to the top of the crossbar....

Technically, you could install scissor steps such as # TLA7806 or # AS25 on anything that you want. However you would need to make sure that the bottom of the steps, when pulled out, makes contact with the ground because that is where half of the support would come from.
